Real Ideas is accepting applications for its Cannes Student Filmmaking Program. In response to economic conditions everywhere, Real Ideas is offering the program fee for the Cannes Student Filmmaking program for $2000. The fee includes:
Accreditation to the Cannes Film Festival, providing access to the festival screenings and people
Entry and registration of one of your own already produced short films in the Cannes Short Film Corner
11 days shared accommodations
Self-catering breakfast
Invaluable networking and learning opportunities
Screening of your work completed in Cannes and a program reception with grant announcements.
The program will take place May 11 - May 22 in Cannes, France. Ten teams of students will create original documentary shorts for a screening by the Real Ideas Studio in the Marche du Film. Students will work in culturally diverse teams in a specific role which they apply for. Roles are Director, Editor, Motionographer, Post Production, Press Relations/Producer. The students will have full access of the festival for networking and will have their own reels in the Short Film Corner.
Applications are being accepted through March 31, 2010. Applications will be followed up with a telephone interview and film reel review. A deposit of $1000 is due ten days from acceptance and the remainder of $1000 is due on March 15, 2010. Transportation is not included.
