We have officially completed our 5th successful Real Ideas Studio program at the 2010 Cannes Film Festival. After scouring the city in search of their subjects and two gruelling weeks of planning, filming and editing, our eight teams of emerging filmmakers successfully completed their short documentaries. On May 21st 2010 at the Palais K theatre in the illustrious Marche du Film, their efforts were showcased at the open screening filled with the filmmakers, subjects and industry members which were met with raving applause and praise.

In addition to our students filming their documentaries as a part of the program, each team was given an addition opportunity by our sponsors at HP to create an end title sequence that illustrated their talents in collaboration with HP products. The winner of this contest would be awarded an HP mini laptop for each member of the winning team along with their assigned mentor. After their films were completed, the teams kept their creative juices flowing and managed to create great work which resulted in the team of the film “Ludo” taking home the prize.
Real Ideas Studio would like to send out a generous thank-you to our sponsors of software and hardware Adobe and HP and also out camera sponsors JVC and Panasonic. Without your support this year`s program would not have been possible or as successful. We look forward to collaborating with our sponsors and students in our future programs at Slamdance and Cannes ’11.
